This week, the Texas Education Agency released the 2017- 2018 accountability ratings. This is the first time our state has used an A - F accountability rating system. In previous years, our state has rated districts as either "Met Standard" or "Improvement Required". There are three domains in the new accountability system.
The overall district rating, combines theses three domains to form one letter grade. We will use this rating along with other data as we formulate our campus and district goals for the upcoming school year. We will continue to celebrate our hard work and achievements and also work towards progress and improvements for each student in our district.
Comstock ISD received a 95 overall rating. As we are a single campus district, we didn’t receive an letter grade, but we can use TEA’s scale to assume we made an A! We will receive a letter grade next year. In reviewing all of the schools in the state, only 35 school districts (29 public schools and 6 charter schools) scored a 95 or better. The top grade was a 97. For more information, please go to https://txschools.org/
For me, this rating means one thing. we are on the right track. We are NOT satisfied with where we are; there are many areas that we know we can get better. Please know that we at CISD will be working harder than ever, to ensure that we are meeting the needs of EVERY student!
