Have Matter? Will Sculpt!

As a springboard to the concepts of matter, first graders explored how artists take matter and change it. They learned that when artists take matter and change it they create sculpture. First graders were introduced to the Spanish artist Pablo Picasso and one of his artworks. Pablo Picasso took the handle bars and the seat from a bicycle to create Bull's Head. Here are a few snapshots of Comstock's first grade sculptors and their work!
