CISD Receives Distinction Designations from TEA

Posted Date: 09/15/2016

The school year has just started and we are already being recognized!

Recently, the Texas Education Agency released their accountability ratings and CISD Met Standard. Additionally, we received 6 of 7 possible Distinction Designations for our students’ performance on the state tests last year. The Distinction Designations are based mainly on the % of students that scored Advanced (Level III). A report on these designations can be found here.

We received Designations in Math, Social Studies, ELA/Reading, Top 25% in Student Progress, and Top 25% in Closing Performance Gaps. The last two Designations compare us with a group of 40 schools that are similar to our size and demographics and we have to score in the top 25% of the group to receive the Designation. In the Student Progress Distinction, we were #1! In the Closing Performance Gaps, we were #4! Take minute to look at the schools in the list. Our kids did great and represented our school well against some very good schools!

It always does us good to brag on our kids!
